När jag var ute och shoppade till vår söta lilla guddotter häromdagen råkade jag få syn på ett par, som jag tycker, jättefina skor med inbyggd klack till otroligt bra pris - bara 15 €!
Enligt försäljaren är det bra kvalitet, märkesskor från Spanien: "Virage". Har aldrig hört talas om det, men de är väldigt välgjorda, så det kanske är sant...??!

Har kollat på sådana skor hela vintern, men inte hittat några jag gillat, och priset på de jag sett har varit ca 70 €. Så det här var ett superfynd! Tjoho!
When I was out shopping for our cute God daughter the other day my eyes fell on, as what I think, very nice wedge shoes for a really good price - just 15 €! The salesman told me it's a very good Spanish brand, "Virage". I've never heard of it, but the shoes are very well made, so maybe it's true...??!
(My son likes them as well - he says they remind him of some clothes Daeneris in Game of Thrones is wearing!)
I've been checking out on these kind of shoes the whole winter, but never seen any pair I liked, and the price has been around 70 €. So, this was a real bargain! Yay!

På BRIT Awards i London den 19 februari i år uppträdde Beyoncé i en imponerande klänning med 350.000 (är det möjligt??) broderade Swarovski kristaller. Klänningen är designad av den grekiske designern Vrettos Vrettakos och det var inte första gången Beyoncé bar en kreation av den framgångsrike grekiske designern.
At the BRIT Awards on February, 19th the music queen Beyoncé was appearing in an impressive dress with thousands of Swarovski crystals. The dress is designed by the Greek designer Vretto Vrettakos and it was not the first time Beyoncé was wearing a creation by the successful Greek designer.

The beautiful Greek model, Dorothea Mercouri, was one of the mannequins at the fashion show of Jean Paul Gaultier. His spring- and summer collection 2012 was presented in Paris this wednesday, January 25th.

The collection of Gaultier is inspired of the English songwriter/singer Amy Winehouse. It's a tribute to Winehouse who died of alcohol poisoning this summer, only 27 years old.
Today it has been raining. When I was going to pick up the groceries from the trunk of the car with the umbrella in the one hand I was wishing I had an umbrella coat/jacket like this one!
This, my friends, is a new Greek invention! It's the Greek designer Nancy Leivaditou who thought about this when she needed free hands during rain. Nancy has recently gotten an award, "A Silver Design Award", as well for this innovating design in Italy. Congratulations and celebrations!

The two sweet twin sisters from California, actors since the cradle, are designing clothes as well. Their brand is called "The Row". This summer (2011) the Greek jewellery designer Ileána Makrí invited them to her summerplace at the Greek island Patmos, as she wanted to start selling Mary-Kate & Ashleys' clothes in her fine boutique, "Μαγεία"(=Magic), in Kolonáki (Charitos 18) here in Athens.
Mary-Kate and Ashley said yes and spent their vacation in Greece, as so many other celebrities!
Later on Ileána Makrí was contacted by the successful sisters in turn, who wondered if Ileána wanted to design the jewellery for their new 2012-collection, which she also did. The beautiful jewellery, with a Greek touch, made by Ileána Makrí has gotten a lot of attention. Here a few of her artworks from the collection:

October 22nd-25th it was possible to see a lot of fashion shows here in Athens during the "Athens Xclusive Designers Week". Our daughter had gotten invitations from her friend, Irene, who had her first fashion show!
Ειρήνη - Irini (like it's pronounced here - a Greek word which means peace actually) has been interested in fashion design since she was 15 years old and she has been studying fashion at Fashion School Intergraphics.
The first collection by Irene is named "Meet finally Alehandra" and is inspired by New Age and Gothic Art. Irene is experimenting with new styles and avant-garde combinations of fabrics. She addresses to the woman that want to be effortless Chic!
It was great to be there and see all the nice creations by Irene! The last two years she has been working together with two well known Greek fashion designers; Dimitris Strepkos and Eleni Mparla ("Celebrity Skin").
This dress is an amazing work with basically everything sewn by hand.

Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in New York was taking place the 8-15th of September. The Greek clothes designer Sophia Kokosaláki was participating with her new spring/summer 2012 collection for Diesel.

Sophia Kokosalaki has gotten many rewards and fashion journalists often write about her in Vogue and other fashion magazines.
She was also designing many of the clothes in the different ceremonies of the Olympic games in Athens 2004 and was chosen to be the chef designer, overlooking all the clothes!

When I was 18-30 I would definitely have loved to wear this! And many of the other creations as well...
But there were also clothes I could wear now, for example the white trousers with the beige jacket (entering the catwalk as number three). What do you think about her clothes?
The incredible ocean-dress worn by the Icelandic singer Björk at the opening ceremony of the Olympic games in Athens was, among many other creations, designed by Kokosalaki.
The worldfamous Italian clothesdesigners Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana are in Elounda (Crete) on vacation. The welldressed gentlemen are often visiting the Greek islands on their vacation to really enjoy their holidays! During their stay in Elounda they also have shown interest for the small island Spinalonga with its interesting history.
