Καλό Μήνα! Have a good month! Wishes from Crete!

Καλό μήνα! "Kaló mína" you say here in Greece in the beginning of a new month, "Have a good month!". Nice, I think!

We arrived to Crete with the ferryboat at 5 o'clock early Sunday morning...a little bit too early for me..., but we got to see a beautiful sunrise from the car, as we were driving from the port of Iraklion east to the resort Hersonissos.

We have lived here for almost 20 years - we moved to Athens 5 years ago. We keep our apartment here, so it's like our summerplace now! Our daughter Marina who is studying in Chania is here quite often, now during her summerholiday as well.

Our tenants seems to be just fine! Yes, we are renting out a chicken farmyard here in Hersonissos! (The rental? - a few fresh eggs now and then!)

Sunset in the olive grove...

The Cretan olives are a little bit smaller...but tastier! The olives are not ready yet - they are harvested from November.

A few pictures from Glyfada, Athens

This is the size of the olives now!

This three-wheeler that replaced the donkey is becoming more and more rare...

Every time I see this house I'm thinking about the Moomins (Muumi)!
