Read in Swedish: Vrachasi, den bästa byn på Kreta!
There is a wonderful village high up in the mountains on Crete called Vrachasi. I don´t really know how I decided to go there one summer day a few years ago!
It´s a quite scary serpentine path up there... but when I came up there I was amazed over this nice village, with narrow roads (you can drive on 2 of them only, the rest are to narrow) and old, beautiful houses!
The people living there told me it´s the best village on Crete!
Because it is so high up (376 m.a.s) the air is always clean and clear.
There is no mold and moisture, and still it´s only 7 km to the sea.
The old people in Vrahasi are walking without canes!
When I was there they had started to put pave stone in the alleys. Probably it´s ready now and it must be lovely!
There are about 3-400 people living there, but unfortunately there is no school. The nearest is in the fishing village Sissi, 7 km from there.
