Potamos beach in Malia

Read in Swedish: En småmulen dag på stranden Potamos i Malia

The Potamos beach 3 km east of the centre of Malia, Crete, is a beautiful sandy beach where we went for swimming the other day.

The beach is really big, so there's always plenty of place. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for rent (5 € for 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella) and showers.

Close by you find ONE taverna;  Kalyva (καλύβα=hut, which it was when it first opened in 1964!), where one can have a cooling drink or/and something to eat.

The bird of pray in the picture is actually standing still up there - amazing!
Isn't the nature of Crete stunning?!

The lifeguard had put up the red flag this day, which means it's really dangerous to go for bathing/swimming in the sea. The waves were very high and the underwater currents strong.

Short (29 sec)"waves hitting cliffs" video!

Have a nice evening!
