These pictures are taken at Crete now in August. "Καρυδιά" (Karidiá) is the name of the tree in Greek. The fruits ripens in September-October. Then
the casing burst and inside you see the tasty and healthy walnut! The fruits are harvested before they are completely ready and are let to dry for a couple of months.
Fun to see I think...I really like that they choosed to keep the walnut tree!
